What is activation?
Each BOLD PaperMaker6© software purchase comes with 2 or 3 key codes. Each key code is a License ID. After installing, the program must be 'unlocked' by activating over the Internet so you can use it. By allowing you to purchase 2 or 3 key codes, we can keep the price of the software lower.

When are activations (key codes) used or not used?
You can uninstall and reinstall the software (including unlimited free upgrades of the same version, e.g., Silver edition) over and over on the same computer without using a new key code.

New activations (key codes) are used when you

• Install and activate on a different computer
• reformat the drive on which Windows® is installed
• reinstall Windows® using a different Windows® product key

How many computers should I install BOLD PaperMaker© on?
The purchase of each key code allows activation on one computer. If you intend to move your documents and databases from you laptop to your desktop, you should install the software on both computers.

Can I de-activate or transfer a current activation to another computer?
No. That's why we offer you the opportunity to purchase additional key codes at a reduced price. If you find it necessary to install BOLD PaperMaker© software on more than one computer, then purchase additional key codes. It is your decision whether to use your activation key codes on multiple computers or to save them for future computers. Key codes never expire. By including 2 key codes in your initial purchase, you have a backup key code if your initial installation is destroyed by reinstalling the operating system.

What happens if I run out of key codes and need to install on a new computer?
You may contact our office at techsupport@bold-ed.com. We will give your account a credit so you can purchase additional key codes at a reduced price.

How do I get an upgrade?
We continue to make improvements to the software as users indicate problems or give us suggestions. You can upgrade your PaperMaker Silver edition at any time by going to our download site: http://bold-ed.com/Download.htm. Check the date in the upper right hand corner of the page. If you installed prior to that date, then there has been an upgrade since your last installation.

1. Back up your documents by copying the DOCS and DATA folders from your C drive, program files, BOLD folder
2. Uninstall the PaperMaker software according to the instructions on your Microsoft Operating System (go to Control Panel)
3. Download and install the new software. As long as you are installing on the SAME COMPUTER and have not re-installed the operating system, you will not need a new key code.
